Mission Statement
To restore and develop Dornix Park in Big Timber, Montana,
for parkland, recreation, and wildlife habitat, now and for generations to come.
In 2006 a group calling themselves the Dornix Park Citizens’ Committee dreamed about a public park on the banks of the Boulder River running through Big Timber, Montana. The Big Timber City Council approved the idea and the citizens got to work. By 2009, the group had incorporated as the Friends of Dornix Park, a 501(c)3 non-profit membership organization.
For a detailed history, look at the Dornix Master Plan (pdf). Or check out the summary of Dornix Park milestones (pdf).
The Friends of Dornix Park continue to build and maintain the trail system, improve historic buildings, and raise funds for signage, fencing, and other amenities. To learn more about becoming a member or to make a contribution, go to Join, Support & Volunteer.
